I need some help. My CD player does not wotk. The Magazine is full with cds, but the deck is telling me that the magazine is empty. I tried taking it out and loading it back in a few times but it did not help. Does any one have any idea what the problem might be and how to fix it. I dont really want to go to the dealership cause i know they are going to ask for a lot of money.

Try pulling out the fiber optic cable and reinserting. Also make sure you have some purchased cd's in the magazine, burned cd's sometimes do not register. Common problem. Do a search here if it still doesn't work.

Most of the time music files when they are burned put them into a format that cannot be read by the cd player(.wav,mp3 etc). You would have to have a more up to date stereo system for them to be read by the cd player. Hope this helps.

I had this problem a while back. Mercedes dealership didnt have a clue and neither did any of the specialist I went to in London.

The solution for me was to buy the same new head unit. Pricey but you may be able to find a used one on this forum or prehaps ebay. After I replaced it the CD changer worked as usual.

I had the same problem. I took out the changer, unplugged both connections then rubbed the end of the fiber connector with my hand and then got canned air and sprayed the connections both male and female then plugged it back in and it worked.
Make sure you close the door on the changer when after you insert the magazine. Last time I didn't do that and it didn't work. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but it works now. Good luck.
