I thought I would share with my fellow members who may have bid on this item or are considering doing so that CARFAX/AutoCheck shows the odometer to have been rolled back on this item. The reported mileage is as follows:

9/1/94 49,000
9/14/94 49,911
12/8/95 59,000
12/12/96 66,000
6/24/98 72,300
3/12/02 108,156
1/5/05 94,983

Look at the speedometer casing below the "0" and "9" digits and it appears to be disfigured as well as the screw just below those digits.

Gary, you are right. I know of this dealer well. Like most of you guys, always keeping an eye out for a clean 126. This guy has sold this car a few times already. The deals have never good through. I am an ebay power seller with impeccable feedback. Look at this guy's feedback! Over 30 negatives involving false representation of his vehicles. The car looks sweet, but on his feedback alone, I'd run like hell.

The following is what I wrote to the seller:

"Your odometer has been rolled back. According to Carfax/AutoCheck on 3/12/02 the odometer read 108,156 and on 1/5/05 it reads 98,983. If the successful bidder finds this out you could find yourself in an awkward position. One thing is for sure.....I won't be bidding on it."

And this is his reply"

"This is the way the vehicle was sold to me..thank you for the information. The title shows exempt."

Due diligence is paramount in any large purchase, but nowhere is it more important than on Ebay.

BTW, this car was sold at an auto auction twice in it's life which, in and of itself, would suggest that it may have issues. It's certainly not a car to buy "sight unseen".

I would assume he’s basing his BIN price on the ‘low miles.’ That the car was sold to him that way does not mitigate his passing on the fraud. Also TMU for cars over ten years old in Florida indicates an odometer that is beyond its mechanical limits or is otherwise compromised due to mechanical failure, the exempt status does not cover intentional rollback. Now that Gary has notified him of the rollback (assuming he did not know this before) the seller should amend his listing accordingly. There may be nothing wrong with the car – but with the unknown miles it is not worth $11,000 or perhaps even the reserve.

Buyer beware, indeed.

I never seen one with so many negative feedback with under 200 overall rating. The seller seems to be an @$$h*le too... definately doesn't know how he's supposed to treat customers and know business dealings.
