Hello everyone,
Recently i discovered a problem with the tape that keeps spitting out the cassette every time i place it in. Sometimes it would retract in and say error but wont eject. i would have to play with it until it decides to eject. Im in desperate need of a fix because i have my whole set up based upon the cassette to aux port on the iphone. Ay help will greatly appreciated.

I would bet money that the wire that goes out from the casette to the aux/3.5mm port is making the closing mechanism think it has a blockage and therefore a casette error.

Either drill or cut a hole on top of the console or make sure that the wire is completely flat going this way ─ not | across the top of the closing casette bay.

Sorry to hear about your problem.

How good was the quality of using the aux to cassette ?

I'm thinking to do the drill through and mount in either glove box or that funny coin holder under the ash tray (which ever I can get into easiest without breaking other wires back there!)

The quality is excellent only when I connected via iPod dock, not through the headphone jack. The headphone jack sound was just muddy and oddly bass heavy. Using the bottom connector made the sound as it should.

Thanks Gabby for the response but its not the wire. I tried 2 other Cassette to aux as well as a actual cassette! i would take the cassette and then spit it out and displays tape error! Maybe the COMMAND itself has gone bad in someway?

Tape cleaner...then it might be time to either do a rebuild of the tape deck (I have no idea how to do) or buy another COMMAND. Sorry for your troubles.
