Hi everybody,

just new in this forum.

I have a 450 slc. What I can say of it after 19 years is: EVERY YEAR BETTER!.

Of course it need some care. Now I have a problem with the lighter, it has no power. Although I don´t smoke I need it to plug the GPS. I checked the fuse (nr. 12) and is right but curiosly the light of the glove compartment doesn´t works, and this is ruled also by the same fuse.

Any suggestions?. Is there any other fuse or connection which could affect those two elements.

Thanks in advance!.

You may want to try replacing the fuse. These things are tricky; they can look alright but be corroded and crumble when removed. While you're down there, I recommend pulling all the fuses, cleaning the contacts and putting fresh ones in.

If this doesn't work, check the wire leading to the lighter. Good luck!

Hi Mitchell. In fact this afternoon I dismantled the lighter box and checked the electric source plug. It was right. Then I checked the internal wire leading to the lighter and to the micro lamp, and it was rotten. Mounted provisionally to test and the fuse has burned (supose the micro lamp base touched to the metal frame).
Decided to eliminate this old sticky wire and weld a new wire, removing the micro lamp. I will try to do this tomorrow. Hope it will work.

Thanks for your help and best regards!.

Carles.
