Hi Guys,

I am looking at buying another CL500 (2004). I have a copy of the Carfax report and wanted your opinion on something.

This is a 2 owner car manufactured in 9/2003.

On the Carfax report date 6/30/2006:
Transmission Removed to Complete Repair
Computer Checked
Transmission Replaced
Alternator/Generator Replaced
Oil/Filter Change Chassis Lube
Transmission Checked
Maintenance Inspection Completed

My question is......Does this sound the the transmission went bad and was replaced? If so, should I be concerned.

The car seems to have been serviced on schedule since then.

I would say that the transmission had a serious failure, and was replaced while the car was under warranty. If that was the case, you would have nothing to worry about.

Thank you guys. I kinda had the same feeling.....so the car has a newer transmission...that is a good thing.
