Carbon Fiber Engine Cover for C43, E55 (W210), and CLK55(W208)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Fellow C43 and E55 (W210) Owners,

I'm having Carbon Fiber engine bay cover made for C43, E55 (W210), CLK55 (W208). I think it should work for all 3 models. The only difference that I can see is the E55 has a different coolant reservoir location. It'll go over the airbox and the cover that has the AMG/Mercedes logo. There will also be covers for the windshield cleaner reservoir, coolant reservoir, and ECU box. The main engine cover will have a cut out for the AMG/Mercedes logo. The mercedes star on the engine cover for one of my cars peeled off. I know that it's a common problem for the AMG engine cover. So, I can also have logos made of carbon fiber logo (by authorized/licensed logo maker). I can also have a cover made that goes over the fuse box area, but it'll cost more money.

The initial molds (5 total) will cost me a lot, but it'll be worth it because it'll make the engine bay look so awesome. Each mold can do at least 500 pulls. So if any of you are interested, PM me and I'll give you the cost for a whole set. If I can get enough people interested on purchasing a set, it will definitely reduce the cost for each set. The engine cover will not compromise maintainability of the airbox and it will actually help with uniform distribution of heat within the engine bay. The carbon fiber manufacturer is from L.A. and very reputable. Their products are first class not no cheapos from Asia. They've made products for major tuners in U.S.

Let me know if any of you are interested.

Thanks.

I am totally interested in the cost. Could you PLEASE let me know how much? Email is [email protected] Also, have you ever thought about making carbon fiber parts to replace the wood grain of the interior? I always thought that would really complement the car. The only problem is I don't know how difficult it would be to replace the interior wood finish components.

Sorry for not responding on this thread for a while. I was waiting for more response, but there weren't much unfortunately. There were more request from the W211 E55 people than the owners of C43, CLK55 (208), and E55 (210) owners combined. So, I started leaning more toward making CF covers for that market, which I'll probably still do.

I went ahead and placed the order for the molds that will fit C43, 208 CLK55, and 210 E55. I'm pushing the final products to be completed in June or sooner. I think once I can show pictures of the CF covers installed, people would be more interested because it's going to look fantastic.

I've been sending the price via PM because it looks like somebody else is also attempting to make the engine cover. I'm not sure.

I know for a fact that the quality of my kit will be exponentially better. The price is very reasonable and it will also include additional pieces for the engine bay.

The first 10 orders will receive the introductory price.

Hi Dan or Jack Glass,

Thanks on biting on my idea. It's all good. There's really no competition. I mainly wanted to make the CF covers for my own use on my AMG vehicles, but since I could get plenty of pulls from each mold, I wanted to share it with others but not for commercial purposes or someone else to make money out of the idea. Since there is plenty of inquiries domestically and internationally, I might decide to release the kit for commercial purposes.

Within my circle of family and friends, there is plenty of AMG owners who already placed orders that would cover my initial cost, which is also cool since the initial cost is not cheap for most people.

So good luck Dan or Jack Glass. I'll post pics of the products actually installed on my AMGs once it's ready.

The one posted on the fibreglast is exactly what I have posted for sale on e-bay. It's for the AMG 5.5L supercharged engines (E55, SL55, G55, CLS55, S55). It takes 1 week to get the kit from the time the order is received.

The 5 pieces for the last generation AMG V8s include 2 pieces for the top of the engine and the rest are for ECU cover, expansion tank cover, and windshield wiper fluid reservoir.

I'll be picking up the first set this Friday and will post picks. Just didn't have time to go to the manufacturing facility because of hectic domestic and international travel schedule.

If anybody is interested in contacting the guy that made the original molds and carbon fiber parts. He is in Michigan. The Detroit news did a big write-up on him and his company and they are doing lots of carbon fiber parts. he told me his webpage is being reconstructed. his contact info is on the webpage.

http://www.3gservicesinc.com

He also said he has more engine covers made right now.

Hi everybody, I am the owner of 3G Services. I have a few sets of the Above mentioned engne covers available and was wondering if anyone was interested. The weave is flowing extremely smoothly and the clearcoat is flawless. If anyone is interested in the Engine covers you can contact me to plce an order, or we can offer a group buy. I would like to offer them individually for $450 for the 3 piece set or in a group buy of 10 if anyone is interested for $395.00 each.

Any interested parties?
