Well guys after working at my job many hours per week,I am now back to my Silversurfer. This is the first step on my carb project,as you can see in the pic it is very low profile and cad shows 2.75 from top of carb to hood, see :)how it goes

Looks good.

You might even make some money off this if it works as intended.

I subscribed to this thread as I'm considering a similar approach, though not building a manifold from scratch. I'm looking at finding a production intake with similar port centers and possibly making adapters. Bt looking at it, a SBF would take care of the coolant routing out of the heads also.
Good luck and go for it!

Seems to me its gonna be a bitch to get decent flow with such a small plenum and short tubes, unless you employ some creative vaning. Look at the relative distance from the CL of the carb to the extreme intake ports...

Hope it works out for you. Now, with three of those puppies mounted atop...hmmm!

Eventually, I hope to make a manifold with a flat top to mate an M90 supercharger to. But that's going to take a lot more welder than I have now, and a lot more skill. But that looks like a great start - I've tried to plan these things out and the little things get nasty, like the throttle control, cruise, and all that.

I had planned to photograph intake manifold gaskets and then convert to DXF/scale/modify that to give to someone who would waterjet cut the manifold plates. Is that basically how you did yours?

What are you going to do with the cooling water routing?

Looks like a real good start. Really nice welding. I have a 560 engine lying around. I would really like to try something like this, but one project at a time.

guys,I need your help on this . Iam drilling and tapeing ports for the banjo bolt and other stuff on the back of the mani but iam wondering about the cable that goes to the trany. Is it progresive or does it pull at full throttle? In my hast to yank all the stuff off the engine I forgot to check that,Thanks Scott

It's a split bell crank. Transmission bell crank comes into contact and only moved to full for the last ~10% of pedal travel. I would recommend trying to use the split bell crank assembly.

If you want to use a throttle cable, like I did you will have to strip down the interior as show including heater box removal. this was required for the M120 install because the engine hit the linkage sticking out of the fire wall. I would try to avoid this and use as much original linkage as possible.

Then whey your all done maybe you can make me a manifold for 4 of these.
