I just received my C220 CDI from the UK, it was towed from the ship after it refused to start. The key is not turning and is not being sucked in. Dashboard is dead but lights are working and doors and boot can be locked and unlocked.

I'm STUCK

This really sounds like a bad vehicle battery. You can check voltage with a multimeter - just place it on the battery. Anything under 12.6v at rest is probably going to indicate a bad battery. Also, when trying to jump-start, if the battery is dead, it can act like a giant resistor so that the donor battery can't provide enough current. Try disconnecting the negative lead from the dead battery and then jump start.

Well, you need to connect both positive and negative leads from the good power source, but disconnect the negative lead from the bad battery.
