Hey guys, I have a 04 S430 4m and last week we had a biig cold snap up here and I left the car outside overnight. Came back in the morning and it would not unlock at all. Tried both key fobs and nothing. Got it manually unlocked and the alarm went off and I put the key in the ignition but the ignition was locked  After a while I managed the start it somehow. I took it the the dealership and they think it's the ignition switch. Now I don't really want to fork out 1500 dollars for a "guess".
I was wondering if any of you have had this problem or if it makes sense that it may be a faulty ignition switch. This only happens in the cold.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

1. Load test your battery.

2. Next time that happens, see if your suction close on the doors will work.

3. Get a second opinion from a INDE mechanic to confirm the key module.
