So I have a friend with a Euro 560 SEL identical to mine. He has had trouble on kickdown going from 80 to top speed. At about 105-110 it feels as though someone is pumping the brakes even though the pedal is planted.

Thoughts?

FPR? Mine caused a lot of problems. I've replaced the 6000 rpm Euro FPR with a 5600 NA FPR and while at least now the car runs consistently it doesn't perform (obviously) nearly as well, especially at higher rpm's. Wish I could find a Euro FPR.

FPR, maybe. But would that cause problems down low too? Not just top speed? I suppose I should double check that it is at least the correct one.

The car has been in the States since late 80's so anything could have been changed.

Let's keep the speculation coming

Mine lost a lot of power around 110 mph and stopped accelerating around 120 when one of my fuel pumps was faulty. Power just started to fall off due to lack of fuel I guess. Easy to check if both pumps are working.
