Actually, I have two, a 1984 300SD and a 1985 380SL. I am older, but I have a hearing aid that is excellent. My diesel is a little noisy, but it seems to me that the blinker noise could be made a little louder.
I’m not that familiar with the newer cars; in the older cars the dash indicator blinks very quickly when a bulb is out – in the newer cars it’s possible the indicator light in the dash will stay on.
Funny, on my 1981 300D turbo my blinker recently started making this wierd sound instead of the blink that it usually made. It's like it about to die.
On my 300TE 1989 model there is a sound underneath the dash that sounds like the blinkers but never stops unless I use the turn signals and my fuel gauge is not working. This just happened tonight and I'm looking for a solution.
