I have a 2006 CLK350. Can not get it to shift up into reverse and then park if I am on an incline with my foot on the brake. When I release the brake it slips right in. I figured that I was a genius and so I would just replace the brake light switch. Then I noticed that I was as dumb as a box of hammers because there was no switch. On ALL my other Benz's it was always touching the brake pedal arm and on this one it was never there???? Also, my brake lights work absolutely fine. Does anyone know how to solve this mystery?

Does it work ok most of the time..?
I thought you would always have your foot on the brake when selecting Reverse ?
My friend has the same model and had trouble selecting R ,,,he had to replace the shifter unit.
