Greetings, all

I have purchased a Pioneer DEH-X9650BT for my W202, with a pigtail adaptor to plug into the Becker harness. The W202 has 4 ohm speakers connected in parallel pairs, i.e. effective 2 ohm speakers per channel.

Can I safely connect this Pioneer, or should I use an amplifier in between? Thanks to the COVID-19 lockdown, the latter will mean that I cannot do this for the next few weeks.

Thanks.

PS

The radio manual mentions that it can output 50W x 4Ω or 70W x 1 (2Ω for subwoofer) - the only mention made of 2Ω.

PlaneCrazy,

I am not familiar with that particular Pioneer model but did install a Pioneer AVH-3300NEX in my R129 without issue with existing speakers.

Thank you, I shall attempt this without the amplifier then.
