Could someone who has access to an SL55 with the AMG 230 wheels or is close to a dealer who has these please check this?

I would surely like to keep the AMG Wheel (Style 230) on my SLK55, and had hoped to use SL55 wheels to accomplish this. But according to Luke at Tire Rack, they will not fit. AMG in Germany has not answered my inquiry. We hope to get an SLK55 to the Tire Rack for an actual check soon.

Here is the info that I've found:

VEHICLE_______REAR SIZE & OFFSET________FRONT SIZE & OFFSET

SLK55___________8.5 X 18__30mm__________7.5 X 18__37mm

SL55____________ 9.5 x 18__33mm__________8.5 x 18__30mm

I believe the SLK55's rear wheel and the SL55 front wheel are identical. All of these wheels have a 5-112 bolt pattern. The 33mm and 30mm offset in the rear are close enough, I believe. Perhaps a 7mm spacer in the front would be required.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!

Why not considering the Lorinser LM6 wheels (turbine-like)? I am thinking about these wheels, when my 55 arrives at the end of June.

Hmm. Well thanks for the suggestion, but at over $6,000 per set of 4, they are way too $$$ for me -- I am thankful that I do not care for these myself!

For me, I think that 19" wheels on the SLK are too large 'case one would need too small of a sidewall (30-series) for comfort and for protection of the wheel. Plus I think the numerous bolt holes in this wheel will only collect brake dust and will detract from their appearance. IMHO, if one is not going to go with AMG wheels there are better alternatives.

Gordon,
You've got some great points. How about this Lorinser replicas for 570 $/piece? I saw these guys on Ebay.
