Due to garage configuration, removing engine and gearbox upwards is nearly impossible. It does, upon initial investigation, appear to be possible to DROP them provinding, naturally, subframe, and steering linkages are removed, and possibly also steering box. Other than that, would there be any other issues which might complicate matters?

Tks

Well the answer to that, is YES. Did so Saturday, with 2 trolley jacks, but my oh my is it a close thing. Not more than 5 mm clearance, and a lot of forwards ond backwards involved. For those who might be interested, removed subframe by supporting motor with a wooden cross beam laying on the front wings, sutably padded.

Not recommended unless necessary. Motor will now be going back in from the top courtesy of a borrowed worshop "crane".
