I missed a breather hose after resealing the valve cover breathers. I got P0170 and P0173 late during a lengthy test drive. I haven’t driven it after fitting the breather hose. Could it be the loose hose caused those codes or is it more likely the MAF sensor?

Yes it will. Could be also a bad MAF too, but unmetered air after MAF will cause lean codes.

If you did not have those codes before the repair, it is more likely a vacuum leak after the MAF sensor.
