Sorry if this has been asked, but I did a search and couldn't find an answer.

Can I use the pictured primary fuel filter on a 1984 TD?

After taking the time to drive to the parts store, I saw they were selling me what appeared to be the incorrect part, despite having the correct part number (A0014776601).

I bought it on the off chance it would be okay to use. Figured I would likely end up having to make another trip, anyway, if I needed to return it.

All of the in-lines I see are the clear, bulbous type.

I just want to make sure it is rated to the proper micron filtration level, or else I won't use it.

So what is the consensus?

TIA.

Can't see through it enough to give any advice, but most of those are more of a screen than a filter, per se.

As long as it fits the hose diameter without leaking, I don't see why it wouldn't work. It's not all that different than the one I have on my spares shelf. In fact, I may have used on of that shape myself over the years. Fuel flow should be from the straight end to the 90 degree end.

I've used both types of filters pictured. It's ok to use.
