Hi guys,

instead of buying a new SLK that is supercharged; is it possible to install an aftermarket supercharger on a non-supercharged SLK (pre2000)?

thanks

Of course it's possible. But expensive.

Which reminds me of the turbo kompressor mod that Hagmann makes. Looks nice -> http://www.hagmann.com/mbproduktlinie/hagmannturbokomp1.html

Anyway, go ask around at your local shops. Maybe they have an idea on how to do it well, and won't cost you an arm and a leg. But you're almost better off selling your current car and getting one that has a kompressor on it by default. You'll save money in the long run, plus less chance of having it break down.

But if you REALLY wanna develop HUGE gobs of power from the SLK, you're gonna run into an expensive bill... Brabus made a 450hp naturally aspirated SLK. Maybe it would still be possible to add a turbo or supercharger in there... I fear to think of how much it will cost however...

sure you can!

Just how much you want to spend.

try http://www.kleemann.dk/site/Main/thecars/slkr170

they seem to be a AMG equivelent and I don't know how much but I am sure they will be happy to tell you...they also tell you how much more HP and TQ as well as how much faster you will be with their supercharger.

The web site is very slick

hi googleg.

yes i will probably have some problems with insurance.. but here in singapore, cars are really expensive! i bought mine for US$140K approx. it is now still worth about US$41K. so i don't want to sell it.

how about any other type of commonly used compressor used by VW Golf? I thought they are they same type as those used in Mercedes? am I wrong?
