I found some good parking sensors on the internet and I want to install one of them into my car (w203). I just wonder if anyone know that it is possible to do that.
Thanks

I am actually in the process of installing the Bosch Parkpilot system right now actually (bought from Germany). Note that Bosch makes MB's Parktronic system.

Wow Drew, that's amazing, where do you order that and how much is it ?
Can you post the URL where you find the set ?
Thanks

Since they are only available in Europe, I had to have a friend hand carry it from Germany and then send it to me when he returned to the US. The cost is around $400US, but it will look identical to the factory Parktronic system. I even managed to get a hold of the German-only Parktronic rubstrip so that I wouldn't have to drill any holes. That was around $100, but well worth it since it is pre-painted as well.

When all is said and done though, the system will still be significantly less expensive than if the Parktronic system was available as a N.American option. That's how I'm justifying it anyway [:)]. I actually have the same system on my M-class and love it!

DO you have any idea how can I get one ? (front and rear)
Thanks

There will be four sensors in the rubstrip. I'll dig up a picture and post it here later.

There are no aftermarket systems for the front, as far as I'm aware of. As far as I know, the system that I have is only available in Europe, hence all of the trouble and expense that I went through to getting them! I am checking to see if there is a way to get it via another method though. If I am successful (in a week or so), I will post once again, so keep checking back. If it's around US$400 for the system, which was what I paid (but don't forget that a friend carried it from Germany for me [:)], would you be interested?

I have installed four systems non OEM into other cars for my family...they have NO display. It is a very very easy thing to do. I do not see a need for a visual graph as you should be watching your mirrors and the parking situation - especially when parallel parking. The systems I have installed all have an audio beeping system that goes to a solid beep tone when within 1 foot of an obstacle. You need to layout the placement – and do some math for placement – and do some visual checks for aesthetics – but all in all it is as easy a job you can do! – Non oem…
