Has anyone done this and what will you have to do to get everything to work? Is it worth it?

The radio, cabling, and amp are totally different. The 92 has a front control head and the tuner in the trunk connected by a large "din" cable if you have the CD the cable is routed thru it and two pair of audio cables to the "Bose amp with the fader on the console.
The later radio is a one piece affair, with four outputs going to a different style "Bose" amp, I would immagine if you had a whole donor car you could use it for the cables and connectors. There were three styles 92-95, 95-98, 98-2000

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. Maybe I should leave things as is.
