Hi

does anyone know how to check if the camshaft actuator (adjuster) is working properly?
I read in another blog that you should be able to measure 12 volts to the actuator but min has about 20 mV. Is that normal?
I noticed a little oil in the connection which I leaned out but I ended up taking the magnet off and measured 8.2 ohm across the magnet.

The reason is that the engine makes a small hammering sound on the top of the engine and the whining from the crank area so I thought I might have something to do with the camshaft actuator.

any suggestions are welcome!
