Hi guys

I was going to trade my Vito in, but have now decided to keep it for the foreseeable future, and (tastefully) pimp it up a bit

Before I do the cosmetics, I'm just wondering if you, the experts, think it is worth changing the camchain and having the injectors removed and somehow serviced to avoid the black death?

I've got a 639 2004 112cdi with 95,000 miles on

Any advice much appreciated

Cheers

Hi ya, i can't see any point in doing either and especially not at such low mileage, just do a visual check that all the injectors are ok and not leaking. The black death results from people ignoring the fact that they have a leaking injector not from people not knowing about it. The symptoms are hard to miss so as long as you act if and when you get them you will not suffer the black death and as for the cam chain my 108 is on 320,000 miles and still on the original.

Thanks Walsi

Wow, 320,000 miles! Are the injectors visible, or do you have to remove anything?

Good news though, i can get on with the cosmetics!

Cheers
