Most of you know more about Mercedes-Benz than me, I am fairly new to this amazing line of cars.

Here's the deal:

My car: 2006 C230 Sport

The vehicle has 49,000 miles as we all know I will be out of warranty at 50,000.
The car has a manual transmission, the reason I point that out is because lately the clutch has felt as if its releasing and engaging much rougher than it should be.

To make a long story short, about 3 months ago I took the vehicle in for service. When I picked it up they had obviously done something with the clutch, because I was able to switch gears with my pinky toe, it was softer than butter bread. That lasted for about a month, the clutch is now back to its rough ways.

I took the car back in last week..
The issues were as followed.

- The car sputters loudly at the exhaust every time the vehicle is turned on.(I live in florida, winter doesnt exist)
- The clutch issues
- When the a.c is turned on the car makes a loud whirling noise by the driver wheel well.

At the end of it all they practically wrote on the report

"everything is working as manufactured"

I think its bull***t, it seems they don't want to even go near my car since the warranty is almost up. Ya, I know they aren't called stealerships for no reason.
I know no one here is going to call mercedes benz and get me a new clutch or even have them take a look at it, but I ask anyone whos willing to give me some advice ...

Are there any known issues with this vehicle that I should bring up at the service department?
I have 1,000 miles left and id like to take full advantage of my warranty as they are doing the same to me.

Thank you all very much for your help, EVERYONE's advice is appreciated.

Sorry, dont know much about mercedes but i do know a lot about service shops at dealerships and how warranties work. Essentially, all you really need to do is either take it to a different mercedes dealership (it sounds like yours is a bit crap) or take it to a german auto mechanic specialist, usually they specialize in Mercedes, BMW and Porsche and most are warranty approved. If you live near any major city I promise you can easily find one. It may cost you 75 bucks for him to diagnose your problem but at least then you'll have something on paper that says theres something wrong by a certified "german" auto mechanic. If you then proceed to bring that to your dealership they won't have a reason to refuse you, if they do, that spells lawsuit for them especially when you own a high end car. My friends dad had to do this for his BMW 645i, it was a slight inconvenience but well worth it in the end. Hope that helps.

Jonni44 said exactly what I was thinking... Have a good indy inspect, and document. A/C doesn't just magically start making sounds. You have a leak somewhere or the compressor is going bad. Could potentially be a very expensive repair without warranty...

Try another Stealership but most likely they all the same. It happened to me few years back, the blower motor was getting louder making a whirling noise and 2 different dealerships said they can't hear it(deaf?) and it's supposed to work like that(Bull***).. they think people are stupid or something.
