Hello to all, I'm new on the forum. I have a doubt and maybe someone can help me please.

I have bought a C55 AMG and It has a 2.5 V6 engine. So I'm trying to find information on the web about the engine, I want to know how much HP does it have, But I can't find anything about this model. I only find information about the C55 AMG V8.

Please can anybody help me?

Thank you!

Sorry bro but Chong's right - you've been sold a lemon. It's a C240 badged and kitted up to look like a C55.

To be fair, all W203 C-classes look very similar, even the AMG models are hard to spot unless you know what you're looking for. Badges can be put on anything to make it whatever you want it to look like.

End of the day - C55 has the 5.4-litre MB V8...not the 2.5-litre V6.

Only the C32 AMG and SLK32 AMG had sixes.

But the c240 was produced from 2001 to 2005 and this car is from 2008, it only has like 10000 km and all is almost new. But you are rigth maybe it is another model. Thanks for the help.

Run the VIN through the Russian VIN Site (linked in the general forum) and that will tell you.

Badges you can buy on Ebay, 3M tape sticks them on.

C55 is a 5.5 L engine. There was a C32, but it's older and was a 3.2L anyway.

Depending on where you are you can sue for fraud and get your money back plus damages.

Speaking of which, if you're going to hang around, click the user cp link and complete your BW profile to include vehicle and location as that is often useful information.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

I'm from Peru, the car is from the U.S., the guy who sold it to me bought it in U.S. I really like the car, I was searching and I think that the price is good for a c230. I will complete my BW profile.

Thank you!

De nada Alfredo.

$35k for a 230? Damn that's steep alright...is that USD Alfredo?

I picked up my C32 for an absolute bargain. $29,900.00NZD - so about $15,700USD @ 0.525 FX.

Anyway, best of luck with whatever you decide Alfredo.

Legal comeback rights probably depend on which country Alfredo lives in mate.
Absolutely, which is why I said Depending on where you are...

All we can do is take pot shot guesses at things like location until they tell us...or complete their profile.

He's in Peru, seller is in US, he could use choice of law if he wants to submit to US Jurisdiction. Sounds like he wants the car, lying seller aside. ;)

(And I was rounding up on the displacement from 5439 cc as did MB; bike makers have been doing that for years, I'm a bit disappointed car manufacturers do also.)

Yes, 35k USD, do you think is too much?, Keep in mind that it includes a lot of taxes and the shipping price from US to Peru. I will post some pictures tomorrow, Its a nice car. Does anybody know how to use the phone on the car? It has some phone buttons but when I hit them it says "No Phone".

So it actually has a 'C55 ///AMG' badge on the rear and is a 2008?

If it is a 2008 and it looks like this then you've got a fake car at an excellent price (assuming 35K included shipping, duties, taxes and entry fees).

KBB gives a C300's retail value at $36475 USD with 6000 miles.

This thread must be a setup......

Either your country's telephone network doesn't have the ability to provide a car phone network or your car phone isn't working properly. Mum's E240 car phone does the same thing but mine works fine. Could be your handset as well.

1. Country can't support it
2. Faulty
3. Not switched on

My take.

I have a genuine C55 AMG for sale here in the US for $22,500 USD. Mine is in perfect condition with new tires, new brake pads, new rotors, dealer installed iPod integration kit, tinted windows, and every factory option except for nav. I've priced it about $4,000USD below market value to sell it quickly due to family issues, but still, you got ripped off at over $30,000. Sorry man.

No phone can also mean that there is no blue tooth (mine has the button-but no wiring/set up for it!)-$35k incld shipping to peru isnt too bad for a C300-we ship many cars to Russia and the Middle East-all around that area of $-gl on the buy!
