I have a 2000 C43, and when I shift into Drive there is like a 3 second delay before it gets into gear. When shifting into reverse there is no problem, only when shifting into drive. Has anyone else encountered this? My car just started doing this and its annoying. It will be going to the shop on monday, but just wanted to check here first since I couldnt find anything on the internet. Any help would be appreciated.

Your tranny is slipping, it will eventually not go in gear.
Reverse has a seprate clutch inside the tranny that does not get affected. This happened
to a Mercedes 190E I use to own. It starts slipping & then one nice day it won't
go into gear. Basically, your car will be in drive & it won't move (it'll feal like it's in Neutral).
Reverse will work though......When this happened, I was kinda close to home, so I drove
in neutral home....lol
I hope to God I'm wrong, but difinetly get it to your mechanic & hopefully it's just
low in fluid (transmission)?????:(
Keep us posted, good luck.....
