Does anyone know of a way to turn-off the traction control of a '98 C43? The ASR/ESP switch only deactivates the "yaw" controls, not traction.

My understanding is that using the ESP switch does not deactivate the yaw controls, but only changes the way the system tries to intervene.

A few methods (I think if any of ESP/BAS/ABS are deactivated, all of them are deactivated... not sure though, but it seems to be the case on my C43):

1) Remove the associated fuses.

2) Disconnect a speed sensor at the wheels (there are connectors in the wheelwells)

3) Disconnect the wires going to the steering wheel angle sensor (may not deactivate ASR or ABS, but I think it does)

Either of those should cause an error and the computer will deactivate the offending functions.
