Ive never owned a Mercedes before, I just received a 98 c43 last week, When crusing on the highway at say 65mph, when I let off the accelerator, the car declerates and slows very rapidly as opposed to coasting at somewhat the same speed. This is very different to other cars ive driven (BMW, Ford, Lotus)

Are you sure it's not just the normal "fuel cutoff on overrun"?

I have the same deal. However, as I have only drivin one C43, I have nothing to compare. I do feel it is due to the tight transmission though. My brakes are brand new, so I know they aren't the problem.
Goodluck, and if you find anything, let me know.
