Hi guys,
does any of you know, why the fog-light for the C36 is kind of angle up.?
When I had it on, you can see the light pattern very high, so high that you can see the tree branches above you. I can even try to blind the semi-truck by their outside rear-view mirror.
I tried to adjust it but doesn't seem to work (it still to high, and if I tried to adjust it to far down you will see a gap between the bumper and the fog-light (the lower part of the fog-light).
Because I always has this fog-light on when driving, so I don't want to cause any excessive glare for the other driver.
So if any of you experience the same thing, please let me know.
Thanks,
J Irwan

Fog Light or High Beam???

Junaidi,
As far as I know you have high beam lights in your bumper. The european C AMG came with additional high beam lights. The fog lights are in the head light unit besides the grill till "98. After "97 the fog lights and high beam lights in the C class head lights were swapped.
...the lights in the bumper are high beam lights...
greetingz,

Re: Fog Light or High Beam???

Steve,
I am talking about the bumper fog-light.
on my C36 if you pull the light swicth one, it will turned the front foglight which is in the headlight housing, just beneath the low-beam bulb.
But if you pulled it twice it will turns on the rear fog-light and the front bumper fog- light (according to the manual , they call these auxialary fog-light). Since I disconnect the rear fog-light, now I can use the front bumper fog-light for driving light.
The C36 AMG for the US model the front bumper light is Auxiliary fog light.
This is according to the C36 AMG Technical Manual books that I have (Mercedes-Benz of North America)
Regards,
J Irwan

Re: Fog Light or High Beam???

I have the same problem with my 95 C36. I thought it was in an accident (I am the 2nd owner) but I checked the records and there were no reported incidents. I can hunt birds at night with my beams and frankly am at a loss as to what to do.

connect them as high beam...

R.Alley,
The european AMGers came with high beam lights not with auxiliary fog lights. I have send J.Irwan an email with some pictures of my AMG bumper lights and if the lenses are identical...he has (and you probably have as well) high beam bumper lights. The only thing you can do with these in the fog is create a white, hellish wall in front of the car...(re)connect them as high beam lights, so they become finally a little useful.
greetingz,
