Hello

I am new here, Nick from Denmark.
Nice forum you've got here. :)

I traded my 190E brabus drifting car out for a C36 AMG supercharger for the nest season.

I am findingit hard to find racing suspension kits for this model, does anyone have something to recommend?

Thanks in advance,

Nick Osholm

yes, i am driving it next year in the danish drifting championship.
We are building the car as we speak, just got the ROTREX supercharger, and looking very much forward to mount it.
Allso we are building the car manual with the Getrag gearbox from a 190E 2,5-16 EVO

Try KW suspen. I think they r the best on the market and the stiffest u can find for a W202. but i dunnno if they will be enough for you. It all depends and what you were used to on the W201.

I hope you will please post pics of the build.
I know someone did a manual swap some time ago with a 300E (W124) 5-speed trans.
He said the pedal box (same part as the 190E) bolted in with the exception of one bolt for which he had to make a reinforcement bracket.
He did some kind of custom driveshaft.....not sure of details on that.

Best of luck with the project!

The compressor is a Rotrex C38 :)

I will post some pictures, i did a E280 24V M104 mount in a 190E 2,6 some time ago, converting it to manual gears. we had some trouble with the flywheel sensor which we had to make custom.

This time i am allso building it manual, using the flywheel from 124 260E, the old version, not the two-mass flywheel. then i am using a 2,5-16 EVO clutch, customized for drifting by a danish specialist. i will have to make a special sensor for the flywheel again.

All the rear bushing can be swapped with the urethane stuff that is used in the 190e cars or the adjustable rear bars that others make. I would also suggest you make some nylon flex discs. These are easy to make as long as you have some access to basic machining equipment. I will be building a W202 track car so I will be making some one-off urethane or nylon bushings for the front suspension. I will either be building a standard shift C43 or take a 98 C230 and drop a V8 in. Keep me posted on your project. This car is going to be used for drifting also. As for shocks, hopefully be using a set of custom Bilstien fully adjustable shocks.

coilover opinions

So I have to ask & here is as good a place as any:

On e-bay there are at least 4 makers of W202 coilovers (KW, D2, KSport, Kido Racing).

Why do you never see anyone actually installing these & giving a review on any of the forums? They've been around for quite a while.

Obviously the easy way is lowering springs & struts for the average street car.
No one wants to hassle with all the suspension tuning associated with coilover settings not to mention the better sets are quite pricey for these cars that aren't worth that much anymore on resale.

But c'mon, someone must have tried them? Maybe the W202 isn't a popular track car but maybe someone who is really into their ride and doesn't care about cost?

Are they just too harsh for the street? Too big of a quality risk to spend that much money? Granted the cheaper brands & sets might be questionable.

A c36/43 is max what 10 k in USA, and a kw kit is over 2k installed, thats 20% of a the c43 price. thus u wont find many willing to send much on them. a KW is almost 40% the price of a c36.!!
