In the United States Vmax is 130 mph or 209 kph. Top speed with the European Vmax is about 154 mph or 248 kph. On the other hand, maybe there is no Vmax on the European cars. 248 should be very near the top speed obtainable.

Removing US top speed limiter
Ok, I guess I was wrong with the euro top speed limiter. Sorry.
W203 C320 actual top speed seems to be 245-250 km/h. I guess European cars go Vmax, but US models have a top speed electronic limiter. Since any other perfomance figures are quite similar, I guess US models and Euro models have same Vmax.
But why there is a electronic top speed limiter in the US models? And why is it set to a low speed? I know that in many euro models there is a 250 km/h limiter because some European manufacturers have agreed not to produce faster cars. I know that Texas roads are not the best, but that does not explain to me the reason why we need a limiter in the car?
I read European car magazines and have noticed that you can get the top speed limiter removed. Based on this, I guess you can remove the US limiter too.
Who does this? Where? And what is the price?

Contact powerchips...they remove VMAX and can also remove the Rev limited.

Powerchip will not guarantee that they can remove Vmax. I spoke to them numerous times. They were able to remove Vmax from certain ECUs with particular software version. Top speed on US c class (except C32?) is about 130mph (electronic limit). I believe the European c class (C320 in this case?) can reach 150+mph due to gearing (physical limit).

I hit very close to 140 in my C320. (probably 138 like CarssonCRS states) No chip yet...

I had my stock 16 inch sport package wheels.
With my 19's i've only hit about 133. I need a chip.
Felt so smooth at that speed too. =)

The C320's true top speed is about 133 mph indicated which is a little bit optimistic. The speed limiter is used because the car comes with H rated tires to save money and their top rated speed is 130mph.
