I'm thinking about having a DVD Receiver with Touchscreen
(Kenwood KVT-911DVD) installed in my 2001 C320, but was wondering if anyone can answer a few questions for me.

1) Will you get any type of error message on the cluster display when installing an aftermarket unit?

2) Would there be any type of center console refabrication needed to install the head unit?

3) Is there any techincal literature that explains the signalling that takes place between the radio and the cluster display in order to display the radio station, etc?

Any other information would be appreciated.

Thanks,
I have a 2001 c320 and want to get the 911dvd as well. There is a way to keep your sttering wheel controls. Have a VERY GOOD audio installation guy put the kvt-911dvd in the single din location below your original factory head unit. Then have him wire the sound through an FM modulator to a certain frequency on your radio. Then just set the station to the channel and you will here the audio from the head unit without altering the factory system. This way your warenty will not be violated. The only drawback is the sound is not quite as good as it would be if your speakers were wired directly to it. I hope you understand, if you have any questions, you can email me.
