C320 ACC problem.

I think that my ACC (thermotronic) is behaving
strange. I'm trying to use EC mode whenever
possible (no compressor) because of my health
problems (dry air makes breathing difficult to me). Now, with 'EC' lamp lit (economy mode) and
temperature setting at LO or whatever is lower
than ambient temp system is supposed to blow
air with temperature close to ambient temp. I know
that this thing could get spontaneously warm up
due to eg. standing in direct sunlight or due
to excessive heat from engine - but driving it
for few miles should make air blowing from
vents exactly like it is outside.
But not on my car. The air seems to be a little
warmed up all the time, no matter of other
settings. Guys at shop are trying to convince
me that this is normal. Do you guys have any experience? because this makes my car
virtually unusable except with A/C on all the
time because it is simply too hot inside.
Of course i've tried that on ambient temps
in range 19-22'C (72F) - no luck, still blows
warm.

Same thing with mine. It seems to draw air from the top vents and always gets heat from the engine.
thanks, i assumed that it could be a design flaw
YOUR ENVIRON SYSTEM WORKS JUST FINE. YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER, THE CAR IS PRETTY WELL SEALED, INCLUDING THE ENGINE BAY. BECAUSE OF THAT, YOU WILL ALWAYS RECEIVE WARMER THAN AMBIENT TEMP AIR. M/B DOES NOT REC. FULL TIME USE OF THE ECON. MODE FOR THIS VERY REASON [OWNERS MAN.] I THINK YOUR BEST COMPROMISE IS TO USE THE A/C, AND ALSO DRAW IN OUTSIDE THROUGH YOUR MIDDLE CONSOLE VENTS THAT HAS BLUE MARKINGS [ I THINK! I HAVEN'T SEEN 'MAX' IN 2 MONTHS BECAUSE I'M OUT AT SEA.].

HOPE IT HELPS,
ROB C.
