I have a c220 cdi 2004. Sometimes temp gauge works fine but about once a week gauge does not move and after about 1 mile dash flashes in red saying stop engine. On stopping waiting about 1 minute starting engine again all is fine and gauge is working again. Anyone any ideas what it could be?.
I thought about changeing thermostat and temp sender but dont know where they are located. Any help apprieciated. thanks roger

Replaced Temp Sender took about 1hr start to finish, very easy job. Erased error code, rescanned and no code showing now. Took for test drive all seems ok. Thanks for help. Regards Roger
