About last month my car started to make noise from the front left tire area. T

  • Sounds like my car have the huge tread tires such as those huge trucks
  • also sounds like something is rubbing
  • happens when i am driving 8 miles and plus, a lot louder on the free way

I got new tires after the sound started to happen and no difference.
My rims are perfectly fine.

Any suggestions where to look at?
any suggestions what to do ?

a. Wheel bearing
b. Bent or cracked disc (cracked discs can be basically impossible to see though that makes more of a scraping noise)
c. Pad/Caliper -> offset and potentially rubbing.

I'm gunna guess "a" though from your description. You can grab the whole wheel and tire to jerk it around to see if there's noticable play, though jacking it up first would be ideal :p .............. If you have no conclusion from that, go for a drive then come back and touch your wheel hub on the suspected wheel, it will be a lot hotter than any of the others.

I agree with xserve.

Most probably a wheel bearing.

If it is wheel bearing, you want to get that taken care of asap. Once they start making noise you're gambling on it potentially seizing.

Part will cost ya 40$~ on ebay + 1 hour labor somewhere
