I'm a new member and this is my first posting. I must say I really enjoy this site and have read most if not everything within the B class forum

I have, what is for me. an interesting decision to make this week.

My son is about to complete his 39 month lease of a 2006 B class Turbo which includes a panorama lamella sun roof, premium package, 17" wheels, Visionlight package and interior ambient light. It has 57,xxx KM on it. It's going to need tires, hood painted because of a problem near the emblem and some wheel kerbing repair. I intended to buy it out at lease end but another option has presented itself.

For essentially the same price as it would cost me for the above plus noted repairs I could buy from the dealer a 2008 B class with 6,xxx KM that went on the road in September 2008. It has the Premium package and the Sport package.

The exterior colour is the same in both cars (Comet Gray). The Turbo has Ash cloth/synthetic cloth which I really like. The non Turbo has black Artico Zanvoort and we're not real black fans.

Unfortunately for me, I'm the gimmicky type and really love bells and whistles and thus find myself still leaning toward the 2006. I haven't seen the non turbo unit yet (we're out of country until later this week) but I placed a refundable deposit on it to hold it.

I decided to post this hoping for opinions from anyone that might have insight in either of these regards. For example are there any advantages that a 2008 has over a 2006.

Thanks very much.

Hi all. I want to advise which car I chose. I hope I'm going about it the right way. If not, I would appreciate you telling me so I won't repeat the mistake in the future. Leading up to posting my earlier email, I was surprised how frequently my preference was changing from 1 day to the next. I found it very helpful receiving diverse opinions from a number of you based on differing points of view . Your comments certainly helped me in making a decision that I'm content with. It was tough for me to say goodby to a 2006 with a turbo and a sun roof but I did. When I saw and drove the 2008, even without those 2 desireable features I was smitten by it. The black interior with woodgrain trim was much nicer than I imagined and as J400UK said the artico seats were a big improvement. All in all the 2008 was very much a new car with only 6000 km and the warranty is good until September 2012. Many thanks to all who commented - your input was greatly appreciated.
