Welcome to BW,
You've posted in the General Forum. (post now deleted)

What chassis do you own?
Please Complete your Profile by adding the year???? and model????? of your car, so it will show next to every future post under your avatar.
Members are not likely to search for the one post the model of the car is mentioned.

As a new member, please take the time to review:
FYI, the forum index is grouped according to chassis designation, usually one letter followed by 3 digits / numbers, and sections cover all engine versions the chassis came with.

The forum sections archives have a wealth of DIY / technical information.
When posting, you can also Search the forum archives of your chassis section via the 'Search Community' box on top..

The stickies on top of the 'Welcome' section will help to navigate the site.

Merging to your duplicate post.
There is no need for multiple identical posts across the board.
It's really annoying - follow forum etiquette.

You want to be in superturbodiesel forum for this.

But for 500hp mark, you need:

8mm elements
Mechanical pump from a OM603 or something similar, or modify your current IP with bigger element and then get a ECU tune
Bigger turbo, some sort of hx15 or something similar
Bigger and better intercooler

That's all you need. After that, you replace whatever the engine breaks. Usually TQ stops working around 650ft/lb, driveshaft turns into pretzel around 800ftlb if you're on stickies. But rear end is pretty stout, as are axles.

May need to invest in better shocks, factory shocks are too soft and you will experience a lot of axle hopping.

Good luck.

No. 606 is good up to 600-650 HP unopened. It's stupidly stout. Above that, you need to start swapping stuff. Under that, all you need is fuel and boost.

Turbo depends on how you'll utilize the car. If engine is going to live in 3500-4500 rpm range for pretty much the entire time it's on, then big snail is just fine, you have to read the heat efficiency map to make sure it's the right one. Bad turbo selection can pretty much kill the car, so choose carefully.
