I have a strange problem. When accellerating (heavy) my 560SL starts 'bucking.' It continues until I let off the gas.

The car has power... and accellerates well. But when I mash the gas pedal down to really get going (ie. to pass someone), the engine bucks and coughs.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Re: 560SL bucking

Dear Michael,
Check your cats. If your car have more than 100K miles, it time for a change. Same problem with my 380sl. Good luck!

Hai

Re: 560SL bucking

Michael,
I had the exact same scenario on my SL.
Came out to be a bad fuel pump. Your car has 2 of them, on mine, one of them went bad. Once I replaced it. I can open up full throtle w/out any problems....It's just hard removing the smile from my face when I do it though ;)

Good luck!
