So in my 2005 S500 4matic, the driver's sun visor moves all the way down but won't go all the way up. Any ideas on how to fix this yourself instead of spending $200 on a new visor?
I had this issue. It takes a bit of elbow grease to get it done, but you can pull the visor out of the rod and lube it with grease, and then move up and down and in and out. Keep repeating until it feels "Normal" again.
I'm failing to see how the video linked doesn't answer that question.... You know - the part where they put a small nut under the trim where the visor attaches to the ceiling so it provides it a slightly different angle when you push it up and the end result is that it goes up flush to the ceiling.
I'm sure there are other solutions to this issue too.
That's one way to do it. I did open one up, and sometimes the internal plastic mechanism is cracked. When that happens, it's better to just get a new one. No, they're not cheap, but the things last 15 years.
Sorry about the lack of response to everyone. Thank you for all of the inputs. I will try to just lube the rod and see if it helps, if not I will probably buy a cheap one on eBay.
