Boss this keeps me scratching my head.

But just was thinking assuming everything thing is connected correctly. You said you were not cheap on the pump.

But what brand fuel filter did you use?

What brand fuel pumps did you install?

Brand and part number please.

I am hoping you have access to the pump, if it were me I would unplug the filter electrical connector attach my volt meter, jump the relay and see if I have voltage.

If there is 12+ volts then bad pump or something is connected Incorrectly.

If no voltage then it is electrical and start going backwards.

Please check your battery voltage.

I just read another tread where the poster replaced fuel filter and other items.
No start, one parts was the crank shaft position sensor as well. Takes it out, puts the old one in, it starts! The replacement was not a Bosch. You would not be the first to have a bad part out of the box. Say fuel filter.

Just to be cleari I believe in the post he has pressure just using it it illustrate bad new part.

I know some ml pumps are no longer available at the dealer, my dealer parts manager told be the pumps are/were made by Delphi.

I went back and read post #1 (from 2.5 yrs ago), and the OP had no start with zero fuel pressure before attempting to replace the filter and pump. Back when the original fuel line was intact.

Hence there is another fault in the fuel system that has not been corrected by replacing the fuel line. Personally, I would like to see the pump installation, with photos or video showing which line goes where.

Nothing immobilizer or ecu related, vehicle running now. Broken and corroded wires leading to fuel pump, after repairing the wiring vehicle is ok.

Maybe someone would know. My ML hasn’t been started in 2.5 years. Now I have a SRS, parking brake, and battery light on. The SRS could possibly be for passenger seat but I will scan tomorrow and get back to you guys but the parking brake isn’t engaged and the light stays on and it keeps beeping as I drive. The battery light is on and before this my alternator was fine but anything is possible when a vehicle sits. I am going to take the alternator out to get tested and report back as well. Again I am thankful to the help from this forum to get my ML running and advice to anyone replacing fuel lines or filters get the correct tool for your vehicle... lol

Brake fluid is fine which I guess is a good thing? But when I use the brake I have to put it almost to the floor to get it to work. Air in the system? Or lines bad? They are slightly rusted.

A bad line unless crimped would crack, leak, and you would loose fluid and fast.

Air you would get pressure after pumping the brakes several times since air and fluid compress at different rates but the system would of had to been opened at some point for that. Caliper or line replaced. You could try bleeding but I don’t think that is your issue.

Bad master or booster might be more likely. Be sure the vacuum hose is connected to the booster.

The brake fluid isn’t fine. I recommend you put in new fluid, and bleed the old fluid out of all the lines.

If that doesn’t improve your braking performance, you can complain here.

Ok I’m replacing brake lines since they are rusted and will report back. Mechanic recommended buying a roll of brake line and he will bend them as they need to be. What do you guys usually use to replace brake line? Stainless steel?
