And the debate is on!

The debate on whether to hold an early election has just started. Well, sort of. The lawmakers are now debating whether to debate the early election motion.

It will be a long day, but we will get there eventually. The Speaker of the House John Bercow has urged the lawmakers to not waste time, so they have enough time to get to the vote today.

Not yet since Parliament hasn't voted on it. As I write, not even the debate has started...

Thanks for playing.
From the Daily Telegraph just now:

Government's General Election Bill moves to committee stage
The second reading has passed to committee stage where amendments are tabled and voted on. Speaker John Bercow made the decision after overwhelming shouts of 'aye' in the Commons. He said: "Under the order of the House of today we shall.. move to committee of the whole House. I have collected the voices, as the Speaker is required to do, and it is clear that there is an overwhelming majority in support of the second reading."

You are even more stupid than I thought. When I said he didn't have the votes yesterday, he didn't. When I said Parliament hadn't voted earlier today, they had not.

So now you want to take a victory lap because I was right?

You must be some kind of special idiot...

Roughly translated - the Huns are pissed because their net contribution to the EU annual budget is set to more than double from 13 billion euros to 33 billion euros, or about 3000 euros a head.

Oh dear. How sad. never mind.

Sadly it seems Brexit has been postponed until after Chrimbo. 12/32/19 perhaps.

Anyway, seems it was a tough game with all the scores being penalties until SA ran in two tries in the second half. SA won fair (?) and square and are to be commended for that. England, to their credit, beat both Australia and NZ to get to the final, no mean feat.

PS England also smashed both the US and Argentina in the group rounds.
