Hello....

Wants too upgrade my brakes on my 2000 mod E55 for better looks and brakeeffect . . Will AMG brakes from other models fit , maybe with some mods ?
I know that C 203 amg and SLK AMG fits in front , what about 204 AMG , 211 AMG or 212 AMG ?

Best regards Mbole

The W210 E55's came with very stout brakes - especially the front brakes. That said, there are some more aggressive replacement pads out in the aftermarket from people like Porterfield, and Akebono. I've used both and there is a definite improvement (bite, dust, fade) over the stock MBZ pads.

If you really want to replace your entire system, StopTech, Brembo, and probably Stasis come to mind, but also probably $5-6000 (!) which is nearly half of what our cars are worth right now. Newer MBZ calipers may fit, but no idea where to start in figuring that equation out ...

Akebono's are decent... not exactly an improvement. Going from 150-60 two, three times... they fade extremely bad.

Cant say I have had to try that manuever very often in either my M3 or my E55, but I do drive pretty aggressively, and having used Porterfield as well as Akebono Euro pads would definitely do it again. Big improvement across the board versus stock pads, and very little dust.

Have fresh rotors cryo'd - increased the disk heat dissipation a LOT - then find the right pads that work for you...
