Brakeline routing ?

6386 Views 5 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  hchaugli
My brakelines had severe rust under the rubber mounts and I therefore removed both brake and fuellines to the rear of the car.

Did not take pictures, this should be straight forward !

Now, when installing an original MB brakeline from the front adaptor to the distributor at the rear (#225) , routing it under the child seat and on top of the trailing arm, the line is about 20 inches too long. Should it be routed differently ?

The EPC drawings are not very helpfull.

It would be, that part number A1074206228 (item #225) is intended for the SLC. The SL is shorter and the part number you need is A1074208028. Hope it helps.

Hi hchaugli,

don't enter full chassis number but just 107046 - you will have options for vehicles up to 09 85 earlier version and as from 09 85. Earlier to 09 85 part number A1074201728 upto 09 85 and from that date PN A1074208028 - but in fact earlier part number A1074201728 was replaced by A1074208028 both parts are for your car but not the one you got which is for the SLC. Hope this helps.:)

Code:
Should the rear brakeline be routed straight back under the child seat and above the trailing arm to the distributor?
Yes, that's the route to take.
