Could somebody please confirm that the brake pipe diameter for our cars is 3/16" (4.75mm).

I need to replace some rusty pipes, and want to order the correct size!

Cheers,

Christoff

oh man the passenger front is the real pain in the arse!
Sounds like you've been there then?!

Yeah, looks like an interesting job running it behind the firewall.

It needs doing, and it'll cost me hundreds to get someone else to do it. I have a flaring tool, some ends and plenty of pipe, so I'll work it out.

My SEC failed the MOT on three rusty brake pipes by the flexi's, but I'll replace all four to save a job later on. One flexi is also blistered, so that'll get swapped too.

Also failed on exhaust 'incorrectly mounted' (that'll be my fault then [;)]) and a broken coil at the front, which is a bugger, as that was an expensive set of lowering coils! It's broken on the bottom coil though, so I'll just cut the same off the other side, and it'll just have to sit a little lower until I get round to throwing the hydraulics in!

Not bad for a 16 year old beasty though, although you guys in countries that don't have the dreaded yearly safety test should consider yourselves lucky! My Benz should be back on the road (well, legally back on the road) next week. Horrah!
