DEAR, ALL.
I have been driving back home today and my brake light appeared on the dash board. Then it was on and off depends on the traffic, so by the time I came home light stopped coming up??
I assume I have gotten the breaks wear, but why the light turned itself off?? How long can I drive like that? How dangerous is that?

1. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir.

2. Check brake pad wear.

3. Depending on the results of 1 and 2, flush and replace fluid (how long has it been since the last fluid flush?), get new pads, or get new pads and rotors.

were you on level ground through all the traffic, or up and down hills? It might affect the fluid level sensor.

I wouldn't mess around with a brake light situation-- get it looked at or DIY!!

BRAKE LIGHT ?

The quality and quantity of the break fluid are OK!
Brakes do not make any scratching or such sound yet...
Will check the brakes at my mechanic shop. Thanks for the advice!

Ok please clarify, was it the red light that says "brake" or the orange one with the circle and 6 dash lines around it?

If the latter its just letting you know your front pads are wearing down and at least one of them has cut the sensor. Its just a simple ground circuit, when the wire touches the rotor, the light comes on, when it doesn't, the light goes off.

Are you the original owner of your car? If not, a PO might have installed an aftermarket radar detection system, as is my case. I had a mysterious black box under the grille on the front of my car which connected to a knob/switch on my dash that when turned on would illuminate the BRAKE light when detecting radar signals.
