My ABS/ASR lights have been on (93 sl500)for any months and finally a mechanic has been able to track down the problem. There is an inline pump up under the front mudguard that pumps fluid to the ABS control unit. This little pump is the size of your window washer pump. The pump is okay but the 12volt motor is ceased and full of rust. The cheapest unit I can source is $1,200. There is none here in Australia. Does any one have any suggestions. Later models I understand don't have the inline pump just the ABS Unit

After a lot of research I found out the inline pump is also fitted to other MB models around that period. I was able to source one from a 92, 140 S class through Euro Parts Brisbane for $250.00. Problem solved. the MB part No given to me was A0004300432. Picture and diagram attached. It is part 77 on diagram. You access the pump from up under the wheel arch.
