Some will insist using only MB approved DOT-4 brake fluids.
But I think most SAE approved name brand ones should do.
Do not mix DOT-5 with other DOT. For that matter do not use DOT-5 period. It is for racing (high temperature application) and will not be effective for everyday use as temperature will never get that high.

Beware that depends on year/model of your car, you may need to open some valves at the ABS/ESP brake module in order to bleed that part of the system (I read it somewhere but don't recall off hand where, or how to do it).

After aam mention Valve Y61, now I remember from AllData : for bleeding ABS you have to open Valve Y61, then you can bleed it the 'old' way. But if your car has ESP you have to use the HHT to bleed that. The HHT has an ESP brake bleeding mode that activates the EPS pump to move the fluid.
My car does not have ESP so I don't know if using the HHT is the only way for flushing ESP, or there are ways around that.

You got a 2002, and it may have a different braking system than our older models.
Is your car a 129 068 ? My 1998 is a 129 067 (without the ESP option), and I think aam has an older model too.

Here is a link to Brake system for 129 067

And for 129 068 http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...GA=722.624&CT=F&cat=44F&SID=42&SGR=060&SGN=03

Looks like the 068 is a lot simpler than the older 067. But it could also means it may need the HHT to bleed the system too.
(HHT = Hand Held Tester, which is a MB specific tool that plugs into the 38-pin connector. So Carsoft should be able to do it too.)
