I am driving a 2012 C-Class with 6800 miles. I just came back from a 4000 mile trip Via I-10, I-59, and I-40 95% interstate. Front wheels are completely brown, to me this amount of brake dust is excessive. I have been on much longer trips in my corvettes and XLR with hardly a sign of dust. I am easy on brakes, over 80,000 miles on my vehicles and still have plenty of pad. Any thoughts on this?

I washed my car just before I left. One and a half days and a little over 1800 miles later on arrival in Asheville, I washed it again. Two and a half days and another 1800 miles later arrived back in S.Texas it was washed again. That's more than once a week.

I do not need to be told when to wash my vehicles, I do it when it gets dirty even if it is every other day. The same with my Harleys.

Thanks for the reply. I can't find a place to buy the ceramic pads for the 2012 C-Class. Any ideas?

You're welcome. As Kajtek1 suggested, try Amazon. There are probably dozens of other places selling them too like the chain auto parts stores.

I'm just wondering if my car has different brake pads than yours cause this is a problem I no longer have with my 2012 C350. I hated it so much when I had my '01 SLK 320 & '05 CLK 500 cause after just driving a day or two of city driving most especially, the front wheels really gets dirty with brake dust. You might want to try the Armor All wheel protectant which really works.

I did some research on brakes before I replaced mine, all 4 corners with pads and rotors.

Some forum members reported that some after-market brakes do not have the same "bite" as the OE. I wash my car often (maybe once a week) and wax every 1-2 month, including wheels. So, I decided finally on OE brakes.
