I have a 1993 300e 4Matic. When I first start the car, and press the brake to change the transmission, sometimes the brake pedal will depress further than what it normally does, and there is a little vibration or pulsing. It is not like the pedal is completely going to the floor easily, like if there was no fluid, but there is the typical resistance to the pedal initially, and then it kind gives way.

But this only happens the first time that I start the car. I am not sure if it happens if the car has only been sitting for a few minutes, I think usually if it has been sitting overnight.

Any ideas on what is causing this?.. Thanks.

By the way, thanks to this forum: I just finished a head gasket with your help.
