So I went ahead and sent the 300ce away to have the engine rebuilt. A hole in my pocket, but it had to be done.

When my baby gets back, It will have a nice set of wheels waiting for her!

picked these up for $400 on craigslist.

Someone on ebay is selling them for around $1400

What do you think? They're 17's. My car is all black without the gray plastic bearings.

I think you should put them on eBay and double your money and help defer your financial hit from getting the engine rebuilt. Plus I think those rims look pretty awful.

If you like them, then enjoy. Not for everyone's taste, but it's your car, your money.
17 inch AMGs would be awesome or sport edition ST3s but I am biased as you can see Bottom line: it's your money and your taste

Tough Crowd!

I have the same answer for my wife when she says, "Does this dress make my azz look fat?"

I'm not a CHROME rim, fat, or "block" look wheel enthusiast. I'm more of a slot or spoke person, on brushed aluminum. But you DID ask, and you can see opinions are like azzholes, everybody has one and they all stink. :devil

I'm very curious why you would rebuild your engine, and just how extensive a rebuild are you having done? What kinda money are you putting into this rebuild? Isn't the more popular and economical procedure that of finding a donor engine from a JY?

Sorry not really into chrome,I prefer wheels that look OEM. As long as you are happy that's all that matters, amg monoblocs suit seem to suit older mercs well but nice ones are fetching good money at the moment, good luck with it anyway.
