Hi,
The metal boot closing handle that comes out automatically when the boot opens, no longer pops out.
Any ideas pls?

closing assist pump

I would surmise it is either the closing assist pump or the electricals controlling it, in later versions (and service bulletins)the handle function was routed to the locking pump. This is a common issue but i am only familiar with a 500SEL layout
